It is the morning after. I’ve heard enough from the 24/7 news. There is no justification for her being fatally shot under those circumstances.
Use of lethat force by police should be justified in a case by case basis only as an absolutely last resort. No other means of resolving the situation is possible.
On first objective view, a lone woman in a vehicle that is now disabled should be able to be subdued and arrested without lethal force.
The fact that there was an infant inside is precisely part of the argument that gunfire should not be used against the interior of the vehicle. Possibly gunfire could be used to disable the vehicle from the exterior. Mostly the tires. Flatten the tires and the vehicle becomes very disabled. Maybe not completely stopped for a little while, but certainly enough to render it useless as a weapon.
